Welcome to Radio Blue Mountains

Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 is a not-for-profit, all volunteer community radio station serving the Blue Mountains since 1993. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day from its studio in Katoomba, to a potential audience of some 75,000 people across the Blue Mountains and to a much wider national and international audience through internet streaming.

Radio Blue Mountains is a member of the CBAA Community Radio Network, a national network that provides a wide range of programming when local presenters are unavailable. The station is funded through listener support, grants and limited commercial sponsorship and is run on behalf of the members by a dedicated management committee.

What’s New

Trivia Night in aid of Can Assist & Toolo

Blue Mountains Union & Community (who host our radio show Rights, Rorts & Rants on Friday afternoons) are running a Trivia night at Katoomba RSL for two local groups who support our local community.

Can Assist-Blue Mountains: Supporting patients treated or recovering from cancer and their carers, at a time when they may have reduced income and Toolo Katoomba Tool Library: Lending all types of tools-event equipment- plus much more-Lending to individuals-groups far and wide in the Blue Mountains.

Both organisations are run by volunteers.

Sunday 14th August: 6.30 for a 7pm start.

Tickets cost $25 and include pizzas at each table. Drinks are at bar prices. The Red Poppy Bistro will be open for dinner prior to, and during, the night. The BMUC has organised great prizes, raffles and a silent auction.
