The Blue Shorts short film festival is back, and looking for talented Mountains residents to take part. This is the 6th year for the festival, which is open to all ages and all levels of experience, including total beginners.
To help newcomers to the video arts, Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre is offering a free film workshop, Family Your Way, that lets you explore the idea in a creative way. Led by Andrew Gelao from KFM Media, you will create a one-minute movie, using your own smart phone. You will be guided through the film-making process, from storyboarding your idea, shooting it using interesting angles and techniques through to completing your final edit.
When your film is complete, you will be invited to enter it in the Blue Shorts Film Festival and see it on the big screen, thanks to festival sponsors Mt Vic Flicks.
The free workshop is at Blackheath on September 11th from 10am to 4pm. You’ll get more details when you book via 47877770 or [email protected].
If you already have a film you’d like to enter, then visit www.banc.org.au/events for all the information and links you’ll need to submit it.
