Radio Blue Mountains is a Volunteer run and staffed Community Radio Station.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering with RBM89.1FM can be a fantastic way to contribute to the community, working with a diverse team to tell the stories of the Greater Blue Mountains Region.

RBM’s mission is:

“To involve and service the Greater Blue Mountains communities with services, programming and content that is not readily available in the commercial broadcasting arena.”

We couldn’t achieve this without the contribution of volunteers across our organisation in Leadership & Governance, Content Creation and Operations.

Do you have a passion for radio? Would you like to meet new people and learn new skills?

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people to become part of Radio Blue Mountain’s team of on-air and off-air volunteers who take an interest in serving the needs of the Greater Blue Mountains community.

We have many vitally important roles that contribute to the smooth running of the station and are seeking energetic people like you. It may be to share your expertise in a particular field or to uncover your potential. Here are some of the areas in which we need help:

  • Program presenters and co-hosts
  • Program producers and local content researchers
  • Technical program production and editing
  • Radio engineering and technical support
  • Marketing communications, promotions and CRM specialists
  • Fundraising and prize procurement
  • Legal counsel
  • Recruitment and training
  • Voiceover talent
  • Office administration

If you’d like to get involved in the Greater Blue Mountain’s Premier community radio station and believe you can fill one (or more) of these important roles on a regular basis in the near to mid-term then contact the station at [email protected] listing your skills and giving us a bit of a history of your qualifications and experience, and, most important, what you have a passion for!

. Listen a few times to RBM89.1FM to get the feel of what we’re up to and then send us a note. We’ll get in touch with you by phone for a quick chat first of all and then F2F at the station. It’s a chance for you to find out more about us, and for us to find out more about you and see if we can help each other.
