Join your host Brian Giffin for two hours of metal, punk, rock and grind from around the corner and around the world. Every week we crack open the archives and dig out a classic from 50, 40, 30 and 20 years ago, find a Gone But Not Forgotten gem from the annals of Australian rock and metal history, highlight a cover song and a live track and our regular feature Closing Chapter shines the spotlight on the often-obscure final song on an album.
There’s also plenty of new music releases from Australia and around the world and irregular in-depth interviews with some of the people who make it. Since The Annex began on Radio Blue Mountains in 2004, Brian has featured interviews wth dozens of local and international recording acts including members of Judas Priest, Sepultura, Soulfly, The Hard-Ons, Shihad, W.A.S.P., The Tea Party, Killer be Killed, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Frenzal Rhomb, Motorhead, Tumbleweed and many more, with a lot more to come.
If it’s big, loud, gnarly, and ugly with lots of guitars, distortion, reverb, and screaming, you’ll probably hear it on The Annex – Wednesday nights from 10 pm.
